AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
The American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy is an exciting program designed to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. Taught by an AKC approved evaluator, this is an excellent first in-person training class for puppies from eight weeks to one year.This course covers all of the issues that arise in puppies up to one year of age and is a good lead-in to earning the Canine Good Citizen title. You will learn how to best communicate with your puppy, and provide an opportunity for socialization in the organized class setting.

Canine Good Citizen
Canine Good Citizen is a ten-skill training program that is open to all dogs - purebred and mixed breed, from 8 months and up - taught by an AKC approved evaluator. The program focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. Completion of the S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is encouraged but not required.CGC is offered on Saturday for 6 weeks. Registration fee: $120. Your pets deserve the best
We are a locally owned dog care facility located in Rochester, New York. Our facility consists of 5,500 square feet of three interior playrooms with hygienic rubber flooring and climbing structures as well as 2,000 square feet of secure outdoor play area with “K9 Grass” (not mud).
We treat every dog as if they were our own, making it easy for you to leave them in our care. Our social events bring together a community of dog lovers where owners and pets build bonds that last a lifetime!
We love to welcome new pack members! There are a few things to do to get started. Be sure your pup has the required vaccinations. We require Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella. Dogs recently adopted must be in home for two weeks prior to coming to daycare or boarding and show no signs of coughing, sneezing, or any other symptoms of illness. All dogs 7 months or older must be spayed or neutered. Finally, fill out our application and give us a call to schedule your Orientation Day any weekday between 7 – 10 am.
It’s important to note that we only allow a limited number of orientations in one day to be able to give your pup our full attention.
Depending on what time your pup arrives for the day or if they stay overnight, below is a pretty typical day.
6:30 am Rise and shine! Breakfast and potty time.
7:00 am Wags opens and day care friends begin to arrive.
9:00 am Group exercises and open playtime.
11:30 am Lunches are prepared.
12:00 pm Quiet play or nap time.
1:00 pm Group playtime resumes.
4:30 pm End of day routine begins. Day care friends begin leaving.
5:00 pm Dinners prepared and served.
6:00 pm Evening chill time with overnight guests.
9:30 pm Night Night! Bedtime treats and snuggles.
